Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of New Zealand, born in Wellington but born and raised in Winnipeg began her acting career in The Piano. At age 11, she became the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin in full Anna Helene Paquin (born July 24 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) Canadian-born New Zealand actress who as was a young girl received the Academy Award for best supporting actress for her portrayal of the inquisitive and spirited daughter of the lead character played by Holly Hunter in the atmospheric romantic film The Piano (1993). Following a prompt for open auditions at the age of nine and having no acting experience before that the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's role. Flora is the daughter of the Scottish pianist who was mute. They moved from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to plan a wedding. In her teens she emigrated to the United States. Paquin played a minor role as the title character when she was still a kid in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and a lead part in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teens in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and played the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa as a character in Almost Famous (2000).
