April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States, is among a select set of females who've won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian who will be joining the team in Tokyo. More than that though Ross will be aiming for her first Olympic gold. Since she's 39 years old she could have her last shot. She remains optimistic that she can achieve top honors. Ross stated via NBC Boston: "If we perform our best and If we play our best I'm sure we'll get the gold medal." "I'm trying to also try to have a bit of luck." Ross was born the 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She lived there along with her entire family. Apart from playing in numerous sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball along with basketball, running and track. However she was clearly superior to the rest in this latter game. As per her biography, during high school she was a volleyball player as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and setting (outside blocker). Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the National Player 1999. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her for volleyball. Ross and Klineman began the partnership in 2017, However, Ross has been a beach star for years before. In reality, she was a winner of numerous major events in the past with two different partners. among them a volleyball icon. Between 2007 and 2013, she was partnered with Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Together with Kessy Ross, she won an Olympic Title in 2009 while competing on the international circuit. They went on to win a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor took home gold beating them to it. The fate of the matter was that Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC throughout her college the years prior to her professional career. Ross had an impressive run in college. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year when she was a teen freshman. In 2000, her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal loss in her sophomore year and yet she went on to repeat her place as an All-American. In her last two seasons as a member of the Trojans' program the team was led to victories by winning successive national titles. Individually she had cemented herself as an all-time great having won the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was an international relations student at USC. Unfortunately Ross mother Margie never got to see Ross's daughter reach the very top of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. This meant that Ross continues to be near to her mother who passed away. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration for her at and off the beaches.
