In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi as well as Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it was the top-streamed track at the time within 6 months. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny for the production of MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked on Medellin along with Maluma (2019). In 2020, a few Reggaeton musicians were complaining about the advancing of the genre towards the mainstream. Yet, a young generation, such as Rauw Alejandro was determined to maintain the development. Incorporating elements of electronic dance music, and different styles was an accepted method.
